If he'd moved too close to the fire, Timo would have moved him, and he does watch him for a moment, but relaxes again when he's sure that he's not close enough to burn himself. Then he goes back to looking for ingredients for a soup, while checking on the milk every now and again. "Partly. I was given the choice, and I wanted to come here. I'm working with the master on his research and it's fascinating." Timo always felt better when he had something to do. As a boy there had been chores, after he was taken into his father's household his education and then... nothing. And that had been boring. He didn't understand how the nobility (whom he rarely considered himself one of) managed to fill up their days without anything to do. "But my father made it clear that I wasn't welcome at home either, and it was this or I had to find something else to do."
Deciding that the milk was warm enough, he pours it into a mug and offers it out to Ivan. "There you go, that should help you feel better. My mum always used to make me warm milk if I'd had a day, or if I'd gotten rained on."
